TWICE트와이스

TWICE (트와이스) is a South Korean girl group formed by JYP Entertainment. Its nine members are Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Momo, Sana, Jihyo, Mina, Dahyun, Chaeyoung and Tzuyu. The line-up was chosen on Sixteen, a 2015 Mnet survival show in which trainees competed for places in the new group, and TWICE debuted on October 20, 2015, with the EP The Story Begins. The group debuted in Japan on June 28, 2017, under Warner Music Japan.1

"Cheer Up" (2016) went to number one on South Korea's Gaon Digital Chart and was its best-performing single of the year. It won Song of the Year at both the Melon Music Awards and the MAMA Awards, then called the Mnet Asian Music Awards.1 Song of the Year is one of the daesang (대상, grand prizes) that are the top tier of a Korean awards show. TWICE won it again at the MAMA Awards with "Signal" in 2017 and "What Is Love?" in 2018, the first group to win it three years running.1 Both archives list these wins: the MAMA Awards2 and the Melon Music Awards.3

In the US, their EP With You-th topped the Billboard 200 albums chart in 2024. "The Feels" (2021), their first official English-language single, was also their first entry on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at number 83. As of 2022 the group had sold more than 14 million albums in South Korea and Japan.1 Their This Is For World Tour ended with three concerts in Seoul in July 2026, after 81 shows in 44 cities. Its 550,000 spectators in North America were the highest total for a K-pop girl group there, and in Tokyo, TWICE became the first foreign artist to hold a solo concert at the National Stadium.1

On YouTube, "What Is Love?" is their highest entry among the 25 most-viewed K-pop music videos, at #22 with 947.6 million views as of October 10, 2026.4
