Jennie제니
Jennie (제니; real name Kim Jennie, 김제니) is a South Korean singer, rapper and songwriter, and a member of the girl group BLACKPINK. She joined YG Entertainment as a trainee in 2010 and debuted with BLACKPINK on August 8, 2016.1 In December 2023 the BLACKPINK members agreed not to sign with YG for their individual activities, and Jennie revealed that she had founded her own label, Odd Atelier, the previous month. In September 2024 she signed as a solo artist with Columbia Records, in partnership with Odd Atelier.1
Her first solo single, "SOLO", was released on November 12, 2018. It debuted at number one on South Korea's Gaon Digital Chart (now the Circle Digital Chart) and also topped Billboard's World Digital Song Sales chart. Its music video was the first by a Korean female soloist to pass one billion views on YouTube.1 With 1,091,093,355 views as of October 10, 2026, it ranks #17 on DabPop's list of the most-viewed K-pop music videos.2
Her debut studio album, Ruby, came out on March 7, 2025, and sold one million copies worldwide in its first week.1 It peaked at number seven on the US Billboard 200. Seven of her songs have reached the Billboard Hot 100, and her remix of Tame Impala's "Dracula" climbed to number five on the chart dated July 18, 2026, her highest position.3
At the 2025 Melon Music Awards she won Record of the Year, a daesang (grand prize), becoming the first solo artist to take that category.4 In January 2026 she was the first winner of the Golden Disc Awards' new Artist of the Year prize.1 Outside music, Chanel named her a global ambassador in October 2018, the earliest appointment on DabPop's list of K-pop idols who are luxury brand ambassadors.5 In November 2023 she and her bandmates were made honorary Members of the Order of the British Empire (MBE).1
