J-Hope제이홉

J-Hope (제이홉; real name Jung Ho-seok, 정호석) is a South Korean rapper, singer, songwriter, dancer and record producer, and a member of BTS (방탄소년단). He was born in Gwangju on February 18, 1994, and danced in an underground team called Neuron before he signed with Big Hit Entertainment as a trainee. He made his debut with BTS on Mnet's M Countdown on June 13, 2013. His label is BigHit Music.1

His first solo mixtape, Hope World (March 1, 2018), peaked at No. 38 on the US Billboard 200, then the highest placing for a Korean solo act.13 In 2019 "Chicken Noodle Soup", featuring Becky G, entered the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 81, making him the first BTS member to chart there as a soloist.12 His debut solo album, Jack in the Box, followed on July 15, 2022, and that July 31 he headlined the final day of Lollapalooza, the first South Korean artist to headline a main stage at a major US music festival.1 On the Billboard 200, Jack in the Box peaked at No. 6 and the special album Hope on the Street Vol. 1 (2024) at No. 5. His highest Hot 100 entry is "Killin' It Girl" with GloRilla, No. 40 in 2025.23

J-Hope enlisted for South Korea's mandatory military service on April 18, 2023, and served as an assistant drill instructor with the 36th Infantry Division in Wonju.14 He was discharged on October 17, 2024, after 18 months, the second BTS member to complete his service after Jin.4 His first solo world tour, Hope on the Stage, ran from February 28, 2025, in Seoul to June 14, 2025, in Goyang. Billboard's 2025 year-end figures credit its 33 shows with $79.9 million from 504,000 tickets, #7 on DabPop's list of the highest-grossing K-pop concert tours.5 The tour was among those named in coverage of HYBE's No. 4 place among the world's concert promoters in Billboard's 2025 Boxscore, covered in DabPop's HYBE vs SM vs JYP vs YG.7 He was named a Louis Vuitton brand ambassador in February 2023.16
